Women in Tech Leadership

Women in Tech Leadership

The Women in Tech Leadership Fellowship was created to cover ‘the backslide’ in women’s inclusion and representation in tech leadership in the Boston area.

During the month-long fellowship in October 2017, three Boston-area fellows take an enterprising, solutions-based approach to their reporting. With the support and direction of GroundTruth’s editorial team, they seek to understand the barriers women face in school and within companies, strategies to mitigate these challenges, and the stories of women’s rise to leadership that enlighten and inform.

The fellowship launched at the Grace Hopper Celebration in Computing, which took place in Orlando between October 4-6, 2017. The fellows then returned to Boston to do three weeks of reporting in Boston, focusing on the barriers women face as they rise to the top of tech companies and strategies to mitigate these challenges.

Top, emerging journalists were chosen for this month-long reporting fellowship. GroundTruth and theCUBE are collaborating on this fellowship with WGBH and Public Radio International’s “Innovation Hub” as a supporting editorial partner. The fellowship was supported by the Eos Foundation.

This fellowship builds upon GroundTruth’s 2016 “Women in Tech” fellowship (see work here).
